PROJECT SERVICES
ENSURING EVERY IMPLEMENTATION IS SUCCESSFUL

Datapoint's experienced, capable professionals make your journey through the solution delivery lifecycle - discovery, initiation, planning, preparation, execution and completion - straightforward and successful.

Our presales and technical specialist teams are experts in our solution sets and will work with you to ascertain which of our CONTACT-OPTIMISATION solutions best fits your requirements from a business and technical perspective and link business drivers to the solutions that will drive positive business outcomes.

Once the recommended solution has been designed, costed and approved, project delivery moves through five phases: initiation, planning, preparation, execution and completion.

Initiation focuses on achieving continuity between those involved in the discovery and design effort and seamless transition into the project team. Once full understanding of the solution discovery phase is understood, procurement of technology from our vendor partners is put into motion.

Planning establishes the milestones, dependencies and the overall project management infrastructure. The output of this work is detailed in a series of reference documents: Scope of Works, Risk Register, Communication Plan and Project Plan. Once approved by the project board, the scope of the implementation project is then managed through a formal change control process.

Preparation is essential to the project's overall success in that its aim is to identify and plan for issues that might impact its successful implementation. Investigations are undertaken to ensure that everything is fit for purpose. These include site surveys to check the hardware can be accommodated and the environmental requirements can be catered for. Checks are also made to ensure all ordered equipment has been received on-site. Serial numbers are registered with the manufacturer and licensing is prepared.

At the same time, detailed documentation will be undertaken to define and confirm both system and user requirements which then form the basis of downstream activities such as user/system acceptance testing and training manuals.

Execution is centred on the activities of the lead engineer and the implementation team. This team carries out the installation based on the scope of works and the system and user requirements analysis. To minimise risk, complex solutions are pre-tested in our Innovation Laboratory (iLab) production environment before being transferred to the customer site.

Once installation and configuration are complete, system tests are conducted covering both standard system settings and user specific configurations. This then develops into formal user acceptance tests and completes with formal sign off. With this authorisation, the project engineer cuts over the system from the test environment to production. This may be undertaken out of hours to minimise disruption. Once the system has been fully cut over, further testing ensures that the system is ready for business. At the same time, Datapoint's managed service operations centre begins ramping up to assume support responsibilities.

The final phase of service delivery is focused on project completion. Key activities include project sign off, project handover to operational support, and document consolidation. The last completion activity is a post project review. This provides a forum for an overall assessment of the project against all stated deliverables and deadlines, and may incorporate analysis and review of formal stakeholder feedback.
