WiFi Networks
Datapoint provides a choice of WiFi network solutions in the form of an integrated WLAN(wireless local area network) solution or an overlay solution for maximum flexibility. WLAN solutions can be deployed anywhere within an IP network, regardless of existing topology.
In either case, organisations can configure security, QoS, and other parameters to optimally work together across the network. Both are built on a secure and standards-based wireless LAN architecture that benefits from centralised management, the distributed processing of critical functions such as dynamic RF management and encryption, along with capabilities that make voice over wireless high performing while simple to install and support.

- Wireless LAN with options for browser-based login, MAC address verification, or 802.1x Enterprise AAA identity management. Privacy options range from unencrypted communication, shared key, to WPA-v1, and WPA-v2 guest access
The solution provides offers several types of authentication that can be used for guest access, such as AAA (802.1x), EAP and PEAP. A typical guest access deployment uses a browser-based logon screen ("Captive Portal") and filtering rule policies. Filters can be applied to limit the guest access rights and/or to put the guest into a "walled garden", allowing them access only to the outside Internet and corporate homepage.
Performance & ScalabilityThe WLAN solutions offer large scale, voice-grade performance. This is possible with a scalable architecture, high speed cross-subnet roaming, end-to-end QoS and dynamic RF management.
Additionally, the solution offers branch office mode capabilities. A controller can be centrally located in the HQ while access points can be economically placed in remote locations. User traffic can be tunneled back to the controller for better performance and resiliency from WAN failures. Branch office mode allows traffic to be bridged and tagged to a local VLAN.Availability
All aspects of the WLAN solutions provide enterprise-grade high availability. We can also offer a number of wired high availability features, such as EAPS, to provide a more resilient network.Design and Deployment

Monitoring and Management
A complimentary network monitoring solution provides a graphical, web-based configuration, monitoring, and management interface. This can also scale to monitoring multiple WLAN and/or wired switches.
